The perfect checklist to give your Airsoft or Airgun a long and trouble-free life! Of course, it's always nice to have something new, but it's even nicer to keep the good old weapons alive! Airsoft and air pistols, like most other things, require a bit of maintenance and benefit from a cleaning from time to time. This helps the replica to remain functional and in top condition for a long time.
We can carry out maintenance on most types of weapons, but you can also do simple things yourself! That's why we at Game-On have made a small list of preventive maintenance you can do. Otherwise, we are always helpful here in the room should you need any help!
Here follows a simple checklist for maintenance of Gas/Co2 Airsoft/Airsoft that gives them a long life:
1. Never leave gas/Co2 pressure in the magazine when the replica is to be stored over time. This can cause the gaskets to burst
2. Always use new BB balls/Pellets. If you use Airsoft 6mm Bio Bullets, you should inspect the bullets before putting them in the magazine.
3. For every 500 shots that go through the replica, it is recommended that you lubricate all moving parts, contact surfaces (e.g. where the slide is in contact with the frame), as well as places where there are gaskets, e.g. the magazine, with silicone oil. We recommend Ultraair's handy silicone spray.
4. For internal lubrication and places you cannot reach with silicone spray:
Gas weapons:
We recommend that you use Nuprol's standard 2.0 gas for most weapons.
In addition to gas, it also contains small amounts of silicone oil that lubricates the inside of the weapon.
Co2 Weapons:
We recommend that you use Co2 Cleaning cartridges. These cartridges contain Co2 + some silicone oil, this contributes to the lubrication of the seals from the inside.
Common rule of thumb is that you should use 9 regular Co2 cartridges, then 1 clean cartridge - Ultraair's 10 pack has exactly this - 9 +1 cartridges.
Checklist for what NOT to do:
1. Never use any lubricant other than 100% silicone oil, unless specified in the user manual. Lubricating oils such as WD-40 will have the opposite effect and in the worst case they can "melt" O-rings/gaskets and make the entire replica defective.
2. Never use already used BB balls/ Pellets. These can have microscopic deformities, which can cause them to crack inside the replica when the gun is fired.
