Röhm RG3 6mm – License-Free Starter Pistol
The Röhm RG3 is one of the few starter pistols on the Norwegian market that is 100% confirmed to be license-free. With its unique German design and vertical firing system, this is the safest choice for anyone who needs a reliable starting signal for dog training or sports.
Legal Status: Exempt from licensing requirements
The Röhm RG3 is technically designed as a “blank-firing weapon” and meets all the requirements for exemption from licensing requirements set out in the Norwegian Police Directorate’s circular 2022/008, section 2.2.4.7:
- Design: One-handed firearm without a barrel or chamber for projectiles.
- Vertical firing: The cartridges are fired perpendicular to the magazine channel.
- Top Fire: Propellant gases are vented from the top of the weapon.
- Caliber: Uses 6mm rimfire cartridges without projectiles.
This means the weapon can be purchased and owned by anyone over 18 without needing to apply for or obtain a permit from the police.
German precision and safety
Röhm has been producing quality firearms for decades, and the RG3 is no exception. Its ingenious design, featuring a flat magazine that moves horizontally through the pistol, makes the mechanism extremely reliable. Since it fires vertically (upward), it is physically impossible to use the weapon to shoot projectiles forward. This makes the RG3 one of the safest starter pistols on the market.
Ideal for dog training and sports
Whether you’re getting a hunting dog used to the sound of gunfire or starting a 100-meter race, the RG3 delivers a consistent and clear sound signal. With the double-action trigger, you can quickly fire several shots in succession without manually cocking the weapon.
Recommended Ammunition
For optimal performance and the correct sound level, we recommend using high-quality 6mm rimfire cartridges (Flobert) . Also remember gun oil for regular maintenance of the cylinder chamber.
